This fascinating exhibition celebrates the life of one of the world’s most famous and loved film stars. The collection of 80 photographs documents Audrey Hepburn’s exciting and whirlwind career during the Golden Age of Hollywood, and also gives an insight into her private life with rare family pictures generously lent by her sons Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti. The exhibition includes iconic photographs from Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton and Irving Penn, as well as behind-the-scenes shots from a selection of the 30 films she starred in. The exhibition also contains images of her philanthropic work, with photographs from her visit to Somalia in 1992, just months before her death from cancer. This carefully selected series of photographs offers an interesting glimpse into the enormously successful career of the British actress, from her early days as a West End chorus girl to being one of Hollywood’s most cherished leading ladies.
Having recently let the ground floor of 15 Kean Street, less than 10 minutes away from the National Portrait Gallery, Monmouth Dean are particularly interested in this exhibition. There are so many fantastic events on offer in this area, but we hope that everyone at 15 Kean Street gets the opportunity to see this magnificent collection of photographs.
